Frequently Asked Questions

How much will a session cost?

Sessions cost significantly less than the recommended standard of the Australian Psychological Society. Please feel free to call the practice and we will be able to provide more information.

Can I claim Medicare Rebates?

If  a Mental Health Care Plan is in place (as referred by a GP under the Better Access to Mental Heath Scheme) you can access up to 10 rebates from Medicare.

Can I claim Private Health Fund Rebates?

Each Private Health Fund offers different rebate coverage depending on the fund you are with. We recommend checking your level of coverage with your provider.

How long is each session?

Each session goes for 50 minutes. However, if a longer session time is desired, we may be able to accommodate and it can be discussed during the session previous.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. Seeing a psychologist does not require a referral from a GP or any medical practitioner. However, if you wish to claim session costs back via Medicare you must have a referral.

I was referred to a different psychologist, can I still see you?

Yes. Even though your GP may have referred you to a specific pyschologist or practice, you are free to choose whomever you want to see, and it will not affect any Medicare claims you make.
